Der Eid Des SS-Rekruten

"Ich schwore Dir, Adolf Hitler,
Fuehrer und Kanzler des Reiches,
Treue und Tapferkeit.

Ich gelobe Dir und den von
Dir bestimmten Vorgesetzen
Gehorsam bis in den Tod,
so wahr mir Gott helfe."

Recruits of the Leibstandarte

Members of this unit strive to accurately portray the ordinary Waffen-SS Soldat. If accepted into our ranks you will be required to live up the the high standards set forth by the unit. There is a three event probation period before you are granted membership into the unit. After this probation period you will be allowed to wear the Adolf Hitler cuff band on your Feldbluse. The purpose of the probation period allows us to get to know each other better and to make sure you fit in with the unit chemistry.

As a member of this unit, you will be asked to keep yourself in good physical condition. This is very important not only for the unit appearance but for your health as well! It is not uncommon for us to march in full gear for several miles over various terrain during an event. If you feel you can "run" with one of the premier Waffen-SS reenacting units in the country, contact us!

Important!

Lunatic fringe radicals that dream of overthrowing the government need not apply!! We are a serious historical reenactor group that focuses on the military tactics, uniforms, and fighting spirit of the Waffen-SS. The Waffen-SS Soldat was thrust into the worst conditions on every front. From the epic battles in the Ost to the unrelenting onslaught in the West, it was the love of family, friends, and country that kept them fighting until the very end.

Postwar insight on the Leibstandarte

After the war, the Soldaten of the Waffen-SS were all painted with the same broad brush when they were deemed an illegal organization by the victors. The following quote gives a soldiers look, and hopefully a little insight, into the most feared organization of WW2.

During the preparation for Wacht am Rhein, Jochen Peiper wrote;

"...Despite everything, the moral of the troops was exemplary. No pathos, no political motivations and no fanaticism at all, which the enemy propaganda liked to conjure up about us. In its place was a melancholy "end-of-the-world" mood, a farewell to all that for which one had fought and suffered and a defiant determination to make it as difficult as possible for the victors even at the end."
