Herr Milde joined the Luftwaffe on December 10th 1938. Upon graduation from training he attended and completed jumpschool in March of 1939.

Was posted to the 1st Battalion FJR1 & participated in Operation Weserübung, the invasion of Denmark and Norway.

Was promoted to Gefrieter, after showing a high level of leadership potential. On June 5th 1940 shortly after the drop on Narvik Andreas was reprimanded to a penal battalion due to the disobeying of a direct order by unit Kdr. Feldwebel Caulder.

After completeing a 3 months sentence, Andreas was allowed to transfer to the 1SS LAH but was stripped of all prior rank.
