Klaus was born into a working class family in Hessen on April 23 1902. My father went to war in 1914; he was killed in 1915. In 1917, I was a Sturmtroopen on the Western front. I was there during the Surrender. After the war I worked as a laborer. I quickly became an angry veteran, who joined the SA and proved to be a very good head cracker in the street battles with the Communists. In fact, I was more at home cracking heads with the Brown Batallions than anywhere else. My brother also joined, but soon fell to the Communists. They were an evil cancer on the beautiful face of Germany. After the Night of the Long Knives, the SA was finished. I worked as a truck driver and continued to support Hitler and the Nazi party. After a few years, when war was soon to come, some friends with the SS said they needed a man with my skills and hatred for Communists. I quickly joined the SS and happily went to war in the east. I participated in the invasions of Poland, France and Russia. I was wounded several times and sent home to rest after the battle of Kursk. Shortages in manpower and my frequent letters to the war department allowed me to return to active service in 1944. I am a Hanomag crewman. My only regret is that I am killing Americans and British not Communists. I am very proud of my service in the SA and always wear my brown shirt under my Feldbluse. To me, we were the sword that allowed Hitler to come to power. |
